Remembering September 11th: A Look Back at the Tragic Events

The Morning of September 11, 2001

On that fateful morning, the world was forever changed. The sun had barely risen over the Manhattan skyline when a series of coordinated terrorist attacks shook the nation. Two commercial airplanes, American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175, crashed into the North and South Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City.

The impact of the crashes sent massive flames and debris raining down onto the streets below, causing widespread panic and chaos. Emergency responders rushed to the scene, but it soon became clear that this was no ordinary accident.

The Heroism and Tragedy that Followed

As the day wore on, the true extent of the devastation became clear. The South Tower collapsed at 9:59 a.m., followed by the North Tower at 10:28 a.m. The once-majestic skyscrapers lay in ruins, sending plumes of smoke and debris into the air.
